Yacht Classifications
So, does size matter? In yachts it does, because it basically determines the classification of the vessel. You may know this already but this is a good primer for new yacht owners or those looking to purchase one.
Class A
These are very large vessel designed to navigate across oceans.
Class B
These yachts are designed to go "offshore," say out 200 miles, but they are not specifically designed to cross oceans.
Class C
These vessels are smaller and sailing around a port area or bay, within ease of re-docking, is their main purpose. These are fun vessels to take a day or early evening to be out on the water enjoying life!
Class D
These vessels are mainly for close to shore, in rivers or canals, and are not meant to go far from shore or to cross an ocean.
